Samarinda Ashburton Aged Services (SAAS) is a long established provider of integrated residential and community care support services. Our vision is that every older local remains connected, engaged and valued in our community. We are a 90 bed facility including a 15 bed Memory Support Unit.
We are searching for several experienced Lifestyle Assistants. There are several part time roles, shifts are:
Monday to Friday 10am-5pm and
Monday to Sunday 1-8pm.
Flexibility to cover annual leave and sick leave of the other Lifestyle Assistant would be advantageous.
The main responsibilities of the Lifestyle Assistant are to:
- Assist and support the Lifestyle Program Coordinator to create and deliver a leisure and lifestyle program that caters to both individual and group needs
- Support residents to optimise their involvement and independence and engage in activities of their choice
- Supervise volunteers/school students involved in the lifestyle and leisure program delivery
- Drive and/or supervise bus excursions.
If you possess the following then don't hesitate to apply:
- Minimum of Certificate IV in Lifestyle and Health or equivalent
- Current Victorian Drivers License
- Minimum of 2yrs experience in a Lifestyle Assistant role
- Understanding of the needs and issues relating to older people and the importance of maintaining independence and social connections and those with dementia
- Understanding of aged care regulatory requirements including ACFI and Accreditation
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft programs
- Ability to multi-task, organise and prioritise
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems within authority
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A flexible and mature approach
