The role:

The Clinical Advisor is responsible for the provision of clinical advice and support to case managers, offering group and individual supervision in effectively managing complex cases and support plans. Reporting to the Client Services Manager, the Clinical Advisor will support the training and development of client services staff working in Nauru.

This position will operate on a 3 week on and 3 weeks off roster working in Nauru.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in direct casework services involving clients from diverse backgrounds and complex needs;
  • Recognised accredited Social Worker, Mental Health Nurse or Registered Psychologist;
  • Previous experience in the delivery of clinical supervision and/or group work;
  • Highly developed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills including the ability to build influential and productive working relationships with a range of multi-disciplinary stakeholders in complex and challenging environments;
  • Relevant computing skills including Microsoft Office 365, Client System and online data systems;
  • Excellent organisational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, work to deadlines and show initiative.
  • Demonstrated experience working or living in developing countries
  • A degree qualification in Adult Education

Benefits

The salary on offer is above award based on Grade 7 of the SCHADS Award plus superannuation and NFP salary packaging. You will be provided accommodation and a daily living allowance of $125 whilst on deployment in Nauru. Your flights to a home base (anywhere in Australia) are included.

This is a maximum term contract role until 7 December 2018, with a possibility of extension.

 It is a requirement that all applicants are subject to the following: 

  • Must undertake a National Police Check and Working With Children Check
  • Must hold a current, valid driver's licence in Australia or NZ
  • Hold a valid passport with at least 6 months validity
  • Have the right to work in Australia
  • Must undertake a pre-employment medical check as directed by HOST
  • Will be subject to social media screening as part of employment and visa application checks
