About the Role
- Opportunity to join our team as we transition to the new purpose built Joan Kirner Women's and Children's Hospital.
- The position is permanent part time, working 32 hours per fortnight.
The role is designed for the Registered Nurse (RN) who has extensive neonatal experience and a passion for teaching and training. We are seeking a nurse who has the ability to utilise contemporary strategies, based on adult learning principles to effectively coordinate and facilitate educational activities within the neonatal service for all Special Care Nursery staff, transition to practice nurses and undergraduate midwifery/nursing students in the clinical setting.
In collaboration with the Women’s and Children’s Services leadership team and Centre for Education, team the Clinical Nurse Educator will ensure that services provided are family focussed to respect the rights, needs and expectations of women and their babies.
Western Health is partnered as a Registered Training Organisation with Victoria University and provides a range of management and leadership streams of study enabling professional growth in a supported environment.
The role is working in a dynamic environment with different entry to practice groups. The preference is for a clinician with previous clinical education or tertiary education support experience.
Skills & Experience
- Registration as a RN or RN/RM with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
- Post-graduate qualifications in Education (or equivalent) or working towards
- Post-graduate qualification in NICU
- Clinical Nurse Specialist or Registered Nurse/Midwife with a minimum 3 years clinical experience and extensive clinical skills in NICU
