About Everyday Independence

For over 20 years, Everyday Independence has supported people of all ages living with a disability to improve their independence in everyday life.  Everyday Independence is innovative and expanding.  We now have over 100 team members, working in 8 teams across NSW and Victoria.  Because of our teams and their great work we have a high demand for our services and need more like-minded OT's to join our team.

You will:

·       work with people in a home and community based setting. Experience supporting people living with an intellectual disability, ASD or a psychosocial disability in the community is desirable

·       work in an interdisciplinary team to build the capacity of the person's support networks. 

·       lead, coach and mentor early career therapists depending on experience.

·       deliver a team approach empowering people to achieve their goals.

·       work with therapists from other organisations.  After all, the families choose their team not us!

·       use a strength-based and capacity building approach, embed therapy into routines and deliver a service that demonstrates inclusive participatory practice.

·       demonstrate experience supporting people living with an intellectual disability, ASD or a psychosocial disability in the community is desirable

·       be expected to engage in ongoing professional development and you can expect that you will be supported to do so.

What else can you expect?

Opportunity to extend your area of specialisation.  We offer core services as well as specialist services with specialised training (for example; positive behaviour supports, Assistive Technology, Home Modifications, SDA/SIL assessment, Early childhood supports).

Knowledge and skills to work in the NDIS - we have been working in the NDIS for 5 years now and have invested heavily in support and infrastructure so our therapists can do their best work. 

Access to a wide range of coaches and mentors as you will be expected to demonstrate a best practice and evidence based approach in your everyday work.
