An exciting opportunity has arisen with Mona Vale Maternity for Casual Midwives to join and meet our dynamic team as we transition to the new Northern Beaches Hospital.

Full organisation/facility orientation,ward induction and training are provided upon commencement.
 

Where you'll be working

Mona Vale Maternity is 14 bed unit with 3 birthing rooms and 3 special care nursery beds.
You will be working in partnership with woman and her family to provide family centered care which is evidence-base practise.

What you'll be doing

To provide quality woman centred, effective, evidenced based midwifery care in accordance with the ANMC National Competency Standards for the Midwife (2006) and to supervise the work of others as required.


The midwife will consult and liaise with obstetric, medical and other appropriate staff as per the ACM National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and referral (PD2010_022) guidelines when deviations from the norm are identified.

 

Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants and applicants for positions designated as Category A will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment. 

 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:


  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  • Registered Midwife, registered with APHRA.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a high level of written and verbal skills with both patients and colleagues.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Recent experience and competency to practise as a midwife in antenatal, labour, birth and postnatal care, lactation and infant feeding.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Current unrestricted NSW Drivers licence.
