Company Description

Our client is a large and passionate private clinic consisting of a multi-disciplinary team of allied health professionals who provide school-based intervention services.

This private practice provides the highest quality multidisciplinary clinic and school-based intervention services. They currently service preschools, primary schools, special classes, schools for special purposes and secondary school settings. Staff are provided with regular training events and there is a strong and supportive professional mentoring program.

Role

Our client is currently looking for two Occupational Therapists to join their friendly team on either a part-time or full-time basis. In this role you will be offering paediatric services in schools and also undertaking some private OT work in the clinic and will require quality intervention, excellence in interpersonal spoken and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families and the team. An important part of the role in schools will to be a part of the learning support and welfare teams.

Responsibilities

  • Screening and assessment of fine motor, gross motor, visual perception, pencil-based tasks as well as sensory and neonatal reflexes .
  • Provision of direct individual intervention and or group and classroom-based programs.
  • Advocacy for children and families within schools and with external providers.
  • Supporting parents in their journey of understanding of their child’s needs.
  • Supporting teachers through direct training, classroom demonstration, case conferences and workshops.
  • Potential for clinical education roles with student OTs (dependant on your experiences).

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy as well as a current member of AHPRA.
  • Experience providing paediatric assessments and intervention with a wide range of ages and conditions.
  • Experience, knowledge and passion for service provision within clinic and school contexts
  • Client focused with professionalism & empathy.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
