Who We Are
Medibank’s Garrison Health Services (GHS) delivers a national integrated healthcare service to the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The GHS team manages and coordinates over 1100 on-base primary healthcare experts, providing access to seamless quality healthcare to over 80 000 uniformed ADF personnel from point of injury or illness to recovery.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Mental Health RN to join our on-base team at Albury Wodonga on a casual basis, with the opportunity to work an extended block of time later in the year. This is a unique opportunity where you will find yourself working in an incredibly rewarding environment treating an active and unique patient population.
As a Mental Health Registered Nurse you will perform a wide variety of clinical and administrative tasks including but not limited to:
- Initial intake assessment;
- Case formulation and treatment planning;
- Suicide risk assessment;
- Crisis intervention;
- Counselling interventions;
- Care coordination;
- Group psycho-education; and
- Record management in accordance with professional standards and relevant Defence health policies and standards.
About You
You are looking for an opportunity to challenge and develop your skills as a Mental Health Registered Nurse and are excited by working in an ADF environment. See below for experience and mandatory requirements:
- You must be an Australian Citizen and the ability to obtain Baseline Security Clearance;
- Hold full and unconditional registration as a medical practitioner in Australia with AHPRA
- A minimum of 2 years post graduate experience within the previous 5 years in a range of mental health settings using evidence informed interventions including comprehensive mental health assessment, medication monitoring, relapse prevention, care coordination and case management, individual counselling, and group therapies;
- Knowledge of relevant state/territory policies and procedures governing mental health practice;
- Demonstrated understanding of consumer focus in clinical practice.
