About us:
Encore Care Group manages and operates Caravonica Waters, a 144-bed residential aged care facility in Cairns. The location is convenient to the Northern Beaches and the Cairns city centre.
Due to rapid company growth, which includes the launch of two new aged care facilities in the next year, we're seeking a professional and motivated Director of Governance Safety Risk and Training to join our team.
About the opportunity:
This is a great opportunity to lead, direct and manage the clinical governance, quality and compliance function to facilitate the delivery of high quality client care.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Lead the development of a robust clinical governance framework
- Oversee the quality systems and processes, ensuring they are implemented and embedded across the organisation
- Develop strategic alliances within the residential care environments
- Lead and direct the development of policies and procedures to ensure delivery of quality clinical services
- Formulate a Monthly Board Governance report identifying risks, innovation and trends in areas of service delivery
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships, with external bodies such as DOHA and ACSAA
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor of Nursing or other qualifications and/or training deemed equivalent by APHRA leading to registration as a General Registered Nurse (essential)
- Current Nursing registration with APHRA as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 4 years’ experience (essential)
- Demonstrated knowledge and at least 3 years' line management within a similar aged care environment (preferred)
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical governance (essential)
- Ability to use computer software in the delivery of care services (essential)
- At least 3 years’ experience within an Aged or Community care environment (desirable)
Skills and attributes to excel in this role:
- Strong leadership, communication and people management skills
- Extensive clinical experience at a senior level in the aged and community care segments
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and strategic planning ability
- High level of written and verbal communication
- Understanding of all relevant legislative, regulatory requirements, professional standards and guidelines relevant to the Aged Care environment
