About Department

Located at the Fitzroy Campus of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, the Barbara Walker Centre for Pain Management (BWCPM) is predominately an outpatient multidisciplinary service that provides assessment, treatment and consultation for patients with persistent pain. The centre comprises medical consultants, physiotherapists, psychologists, nurses and support staff working as an integrated team with the aim of reducing the impact of persistent pain and disability by optimising pain treatments, improving function and promoting self-management. The centre services a diverse group of clients from around Victoria, many with complex needs, offering treatment both individually and in groups.



About the Role

An opportunity currently exists for an administrative assistant to join the BWCPM on a part-time basis. You will be working with the administration team and reporting to the administration team leader. Must be available to work Monday, Tuesday and Friday 8:30am to 5pm.



Duties

  • Front desk reception and customer service
  • Making appointments and using the patient administration system (PAS)
  • Communicating with medical and allied health staff
  • Medicare billing, SMS messaging and VINAH contacts
  • Processing referrals and waiting list management
  • Working closely with the administration team


Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Administrative training at certificate / diploma level
  • Year 12 or equivalent of numeracy and literacy
  • Experience of at least 5 years in a health administrative role
  • Knowledge, experience and ability to provide advanced level administrative support
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
