mecwacare is seeking a motivated, experienced and qualified Lifestyle Assistant to assist to develop and implement activities for our residents at mecwacare’s Simon Price Centre in Mont Albert. The Lifestyle Assistant supports the Lifestyle Coordinator to provide meaningful leisure and lifestyle activities which contributes to resident’s well-being and social and emotional life.
  
Successful applicants must have:  

• Certificate IV in Community Services (Lifestyle and Leisure)
• Previous experience in a similar role in residential aged care or community setting
• Ability to contribute to the assessment of each residents social and emotional needs and design appropriate, individual lifestyle programs to meet their needs
• An understanding of the ageing process and caring for older people
• Self-motivation with well-developed organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Well-developed computer skills
• Satisfactory completion of National Police Record Check and Current Driver License.

 
Desirable:  

• Knowledge and experience of the Aged Care Accreditation requirements
• Knowledge of current Health and Safety requirements.
• First Aid knowledge.
