An exciting opportunity now exists for a Senior Speech Pathologist to join the Helping Hand Healthcare Services Team at a Permanent Part-Time capacity (FTE 0.7).

Reporting to the Healthcare Services Support Manager, this position will manage and develop the Speech Pathology team, delivering a range of speech pathology services including coordination, management and provision of quality communication and swallowing services across Helping Hand’s residential sites and community services within the metropolitan area. This Senior role will also be responsible for the facilitation of the Speech Pathology student clinic.

This role will be paramount in providing comprehensive and contemporary, evidence based Speech Pathology services to clients in accordance with each client’s individual needs, barriers and interests by conducting clinical assessments to establish measurable rehabilitation and quality of life focused goals.

A high level of interaction with both internal and external clients & staff from across a diverse range of backgrounds is essential therefore the ideal candidate must be able to provide a high quality of customer service that recognises the complexity and sensitivities of our client’s situations.

To be successful in this role, you will also have:

/ Tertiary qualification in Speech pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia is essential.
/ Demonstrated experience providing speech pathology services to adult clients in aged care, acute or rehabilitative settings
/ Demonstrated experience managing a small team (within health or other settings)
/ Demonstrated experience in assessing and evaluating functional needs of clients and providing group and individual speech pathology services.
/ Ability to initiate and maintain effective working relationships at any level within a large-scale organisation
/ Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills
/ Clear ability to think creatively about the delivery of community-based program
/ A working knowledge of local community services and networks
