Fixed term maternity leave position - 7 monthsInstrument Technician Grade 2 or 3 - experienced

 8 hr shifts, 40 hours per fortnight as follows:

week one - 16 hrs

week two - 24 hrs

Rotating roster  -  earliest start 7am, latest finish 11pm

The Royal Women’s Hospital Sterile Processing Services Department are looking motivated Instrument Technicians to join our friendly, committed team in Sterile Processing Services on a fixed term or casual basis. This role will be provided with a comprehensive orientation and be well supported by a hardworking and friendly team environment

Your contribution:

Your duties will include the following:

  • Efficient processing of all reusable medical devices within the policy and guidelines of the Sterile Processing Service (SPS) and the Australian Standards
  • The implementation of continuous and quality improvements within the SPS
  • To develop and maintain high standards in procedures and techniques of processing reusable medical devices

About you

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

  • At least 12 months experience in the industry
  • Instrumentation knowledge & experience
  • Experience working steam sterilisers & all aspects of decontamination equipment
  • An understanding of infection control principles
  • A clear understanding of AS/NZS4187:2014
