CareFlight is an Australian not-for-profit aeromedical organisation. Our mission is to save lives, speed recovery and serve the community.
We operate from locations in NSW, northern WA and the Top End of the NT. Our specially trained doctors, nurses and paramedics use helicopters, aeroplanes, medi-jets and road ambulances to bring a hospital level of care to over 5,000 patients each year. We also deploy medical professionals to remote oil, gas & mining sites, both onshore and offshore.
The role
We currently have opportunities for Critical Care Retrieval Registrars specialising in Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care.
Based in Sydney your role would involve high acuity transfers as part of the pre-hospital rapid response helicopter trauma system and fixed wing transfers both within Australia and internationally. Trainees will also experience rotations to the busy regional helicopter base at Orange 300km west of Sydney.

Previous retrieval experience is not required as our comprehensive induction and ongoing training program will teach you all you need to know.
If you are an overseas trainee, we'll also take the hassle out of coming to Australia by assisting you with your visa, college accreditation and Australian medical registration needs.
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
- have successfully completed your Primary examination in anaesthesia, emergency medicine or intensive care medicine
- be a fourth or Senior Advanced Trainee in Anaesthetics, Emergency Medicine or ICU (completion of STF4 if UK registrar)
- have successfully completed of ATLS or EMST
- be physically ift and able to work at heights and in water (successfully complete of pre-employment physical assessment)
- be registered to practice in Australia (or be willing to undertake medical registration)
- successfully complete CareFlight’s pre-employment physical assessment
- be prepared to undertake Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET)
- hold a current passport
