Full time, junior dental assistant required for a busy, general dental practice in both Parramatta and Cabramatta. No experience required, we are happy to provide you with the training to become a great dental assistant and valued member of our team. Only those who are available to work full time and can work on Saturdays should apply.
Dental Assistant duties include:
- Welcoming patients and their families and ensuring they are comfortable during their dental visit
- Assisting the dentist chair-side during procedures - passing instruments, mixing materials, control of the suction and light
- Infection control and sterilisation of instruments and disinfection of the clinical environment
- General household maintenance and tidying up of the dental surgery and waiting room
- Minor reception and clerical duties - filing and booking patient appointments, accounts and claiming
Dental Assistant Qualities and Skills desired:
- Must have a keen interest in a hands-on and interactive job
- Open to constructive feedback and willingness to learn and gain skills as a dental assistant
- Punctual and tidy presentation with a kind and caring nature
- Diligent and hardworking attitude
- Flexible with hours; we need staff members who can work during the week as well as on Saturdays
- Must be willing to travel between multiple locations for work
- Good computer skills are an advantage but not mandatory
- Good spoken English skills and Chinese (Mandarin / Cantonese speaking) skills preferred
- We are a general dental practice and provide the full range of dental services. Our dental assistants become trained in all aspects of dentistry. We are looking for a candidate that would like to improve their knowledge and experience in a broad range of procedures in the dental profession and would like to be a long-term team member of the Practice.
