G4S Custodial Services Pty Ltd operates Port Phillip Prison on behalf of Corrections Victoria. The 1100 + bed maximum security men's prison is located at Truganina. We recently celebrated our 20 year anniversary of continuous service delivery at Port Phillip Prison, and have commenced our tenure into the next 20 year contract.
Within our Clinical and Integration Services team, we have a number of opportunities for full time and part time clinicians to join.

The role of a Clinician within the prison setting is unique, varied and rewarding. Just some of your duties will include:
- Conducting thorough forensic risk and needs assessments of prisoners
- Planning and facilitation of offender behaviour programs and skill based programs
- Development and delivery of treatment plans for prisoners with complex needs
- Maintenance of detailed case notes, statistics and records
- Preparation of complex clinical reports and summaries of treatment
- Liaison with key internal and external stakeholders and the representation of Port Phillip Prison at meetings, studies and briefings
- Assistance with the ongoing training and development of correctional staff with regards to clinical practices within Port Phillip Prison
To be considered for this position you must demonstrate the following skills, experience and qualifications:
- Registrations as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Mental Health Nurse
- For Psychologists , Occupational Therapists and Mental Health Nurses demonstrate full registration with AHPRA
- For Social Workers demonstrate eligibility for full registration/recognition with the Australian Association of Social Workers
- Experience working with offenders or a demonstrated understanding of offending behaviour and the criminogenic needs of offenders
- Highly developed communication skills with the ability to negotiate and deal with conflict
- Excellent written and report writing skills
- Strong computer skills with the ability to organise and prioritise
- Previous experience working within the correctional sector will be highly regarded, however not essential if you can demonstrate a passion for wanting to enhance your knowledge in such environment
