About the Department

The Quality Coordinator - Adult mental Health will work collaboratively with the Quality & Risk Unit, clinical managers and clinical staff. The Quality Coordinator will be predominately based at the St Vincent’s campus with travel to the external units required.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic clinician to join the Quality and Risk team on a full time basis. The Quality Coordinator is primarily responsible for the coordination of quality and risk activities across the adult mental health portfolios. The second component of this role will be to undertake the responsibilities of the Patient Representative Officer for this portfolio. The incumbent will be furthermore responsible to convene key committees and project working groups that St Vincent’s wide applications.

Duties

  • Works collaboratively with the Quality & Risk Unit, Managers and clinical staff to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate evidence based clinical practice improvement strategies
  • Analyses reports on key areas of clinical risk, identifying and responding to trends
  • Support the mental health team in utilising the SVHM Problem Solving methodology, including in-depth case review and Root Cause Analysis as required for incidents of harm (or potential harm) in key project areas
  • Address formal complaints in a timely manner
  • Develop and monitor quality targets, KPIs and incorporate actions into appropriate plans in conjunction with the Mental Health Service and Quality & Risk Unit

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Current registration with the APHRA
  • Post graduate qualification and experience in a related specialty
  • Advanced knowledge and skill in clinical practice, change management and/or project management
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with other services and departments.
