Newcastle & District Nursing Service (NDNS) is a long established, highly professional company committed to excellence in Community Nursing and Disability Care.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse of exceptional standard to take up a permanent – part time position within our nursing team in the Newcastle Region. This position provides for a rewarding career in a caring environment that fosters growth, flexibility and development. Training and mentoring is provided within the role. 

As the Registered Nurse you will provide clinical nursing duties, case management, admissions, management of home care packages and client reviews. Working in the community this role provides for flexibility, diversity and challenge.   

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Direct Clinical Care to clients of NDNS.
  • Provide Clinical Leadership to other staff members.
  • Develop care plans in consultation with client, family members and or advocates.
  • Clinical care skills, wound care and chronic wound management.   
  • Manage information and documentation that supports quality service delivery.
  • Ordering of nursing consumables.
  • Ensure NDNS policies, procedures and systems are clearly understood and implemented within the area of responsibility. 

 

Our ideal candidate will have -

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Experience within community nursing
  • Current CPR 
  • Demonstrated experience in community based client assessment, goal based care plan development, implementation of care services with an enablement focus and client reviews.
  • Case management and documentation skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in addition competent in the use of a computer.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • A positive attitude and work ethic
