Introduction

This is a contract role delivering Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counselling to clients of MAX Solutions.  EAP counselling is intended to be short term, voluntary, confidential counselling.  Most of the time it is delivered in person, but telephone counselling is an option too.

The contract EAP Counsellor will provide services from their own rooms based in the Melbourne CBD area or inner city suburbs and manage their own appointments.  Ideally, appointments should be available outside of usual business hours and offices should have easy parking OR be easily reached by public transport.

An initial appointment should be offered to the client within two working days of them first making contact.  If the offered time is not convenient for the client, a mutually agreeable time may be offered.

The opportunity

  • Provision of short term interventions for clients accessing their EAP
  • Includes identification of a presenting problem, gaining agreement with the client about treatment goals and providing an appropriate evidence based intervention
  • Includes appropriate management of risk when required and referral to appropriate services

About you

  • General Registration Psychologist with current AHPRA registration, or Social Worker eligible for full membership with the AASW, is essential
  • Experience providing short term evidence based interventions
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • Public Liability Insurance
