Position Summary:
FlexICare has a position available for an Orthoptist - Level 2. We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Orthoptist with a high level of clinical, interpersonal and organisational skills. This is an outstanding career opportunity for a personable and committed professional to work alongside talented and well-respected clinicians in the Eye Clinics in General Ambulatory Care at St Vincent’s Hospital. This busy eye clinics cover all eye specialities with a focus on Retinal, Glaucoma, Corneal, Oculoplastics, Cataracts and Ocular Oncology. This position will provide specialist Orthoptic investigations and diagnostics to a diverse group of adult patients

The position is Monday - Friday day shift only with and ADO per month.

Selection Criteria

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
  • Tertiary qualifications in Orthoptics
  • Registered member with the Orthoptic Board (AB)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in orthoptics and ophthalmic assessment including working knowledge of the Humphrey visual field, Ocular Coherence Tomography and retinal photography
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the provision of orthoptic services.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to own personal and professional development
  • Computer literacy (eg: MS Word, email and an electronic patient record system)
