Salary package up to $280,000 plus package
We are currently arranging interviews for a hospital on the South Coast of Victoria who are seeking a General Surgeon to join their team. The local health service, along with the Victorian Health Authority have just announced the next investment and redevelopment stage for this teaching hospital. Not only is their ED doubling in size to 38 cubicles but 6 new state-of-the-art operating theatres will be opened (they currently only have three).
This hospital is located on the beautiful south west coast of Victoria, approximately three hours from Melbourne. Located at the end of the Great Ocean Road, the city is surrounded by stunning beaches which are suitable for both swimming and surfing. The ocean is still a highlight of this area in the winter too, as the Southern Right Whales migrate there to give birth to their calves, rear them and then move on in the spring (there's a watching platform specifically for this). The nearby coast is also home to seals, penguins and dolphins. It is home to several festivals including the Wunta Fiesta - music festival held every February and the 2nd oldest cycle race in the world. Melbourne is only a three-hour drive away (there are also flights and rail services) making it easily accessible.
Ideally you will have your FRACS, however, equivalent qualifications will also be considered.
