Located at Upper Mt Gravatt, Garden City Aged Care Services is a 54 bed facility within leafy surroundings that prides itself on maintaining an at home environment for elderly residents living with dementia.
Your Opportunity
We are seeking a medical endorsed enrolled nurse with a minimum of 3 years aged care experience to join our dedicated friendly and caring team. This is a rewarding role with an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Dementia residents.
This is a part time position requiring availability for a minimum of 60 hours per fortnight covering varied AM and PM shifts across the 7 day roster.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Care or Registered Nurse on duty, the Enrolled Nurse plays an important role in ensuring our residents receive the highest quality care by providing physical, psychological, social, spiritual and environmental needs.
Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a willingness to learn, displays excellent communication skills with a positive attitude, is honest at all times, caring and resident-focused. You will have proven expertise in care management plans and coordination of quality aged residential care.
Critical to your success is your ability to build rapport with the residents, carers, families and assist the registered nurse in the supervision of assistant nurses.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Available for morning & evening shifts
- Current AHPRA (Div. 2) Registration
- Minimum of 3 years extensive experience in an Enrolled Nurse role within Aged Care preferably with Dementia residents
- Understanding of ACFI highly regarded
- Experience & understanding of care management plans
- Possess empathy & understanding of the needs of our elderly residents
- To demonstrate a high standard of nursing care
- Solid experience with wound care, continence & pain/palliative management
