ZEISS is a world leading optics company and we are seeking a Data Entry, Lab Technician to support our ZEISS North Ryde team.  Reporting to the Branch Manager, your primary role will be timely processing, editing and coordination of lens orders. In addition you will be required to back-up Customer Service as well as providing support to other functions within the lab as required.

This is a diverse role which requires someone who can transition between roles, be flexible and with a ‘can do’ attitude. The successful applicant will find themselves an integral member of our professional and supportive Lab team.

Key responsibilities of this role will include, but not limited to:

• Extracting, following up on and reporting daily late order list
• Processing job orders into Rx ordering systems
• Input of data including editing of lens orders into our business management system
• Receiving and dispatching of daily orders
• Identification of different frame styles, types and manufactures
• Tracing of all styles of lens frames
• Maintenance of finished single vision inventory
• Provide back-up to the customer service team assisting with all customer service functions
• Work in partnership with Lab Manager and team members to meet company targets and address any customer issues

The key skills required for this role include:

• Minimum 2 years experience in the Optical Industry or office environment would be highly regarded
• Responsible for providing a consistent quality product which can be delivered to the customer within time frames, meeting all quality standards
• Willingness to learn new skills and ability to cross train into various related departments and embrace ZEISS values
• Ability to work well in a team environment to set timeframes
• Process driven individual who is organized and has the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise, work under pressure and be flexible, often dealing with ad-hoc queries from customers
• Proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel
