About the Role
Arrange and conduct traffic and safety investigations and technical assessments, identify options to address road safety and traffic management issues within state government.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Undertake traffic, safety and land use development investigations, audits and technical assessments to identify options to address network issues
- Implement network management procedures and contribute to local quality audits and reviews of state wide procedures
- Provide high level network management advice within state government and councils through Traffic and Development Committees
- Provide timely and considered responses to customer and stakeholder issues to contribute to the unit's customer focus
- Work collaboratively with other precincts to build a consistent approach to network and safety management
- Give advice on proposals
- Be able to read plans and understand the applicable standards
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in traffic engineering or a related discipline and/or equivalent experience in a related field
- High level understanding of network management policies, guidelines, technical directions and procedures
- Proven ability to investigate and develop solutions to complex network management problems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues and deal tactfully and effectively with people at all levels
