An outstanding opportunity exists to join the leadership team of one of Victoria's largest municipalities. Located in northern Melbourne, Hume City Council serves a vibrant, diverse and growing population of over 200,000 people. It is a high energy growth corridor, home to Melbourne Airport and many internationally renowned companies. The municipality of 504 square kilometres comprises rural, established and rapidly growing urban areas including Craigieburn and Sunbury.
You will be part of a high performing Executive Management Team and will be working closely in strong collaboration with Councillors, staff and key stakeholders.
Your expertise and proven outstanding performance, coupled with your commitment to achievement, customer focussed delivery and extensive community services expertise will see you positively contributing to Council and our community. The role requires a person with exceptional communications skills, relevant qualifications, contemporary management expertise, and political acumen to facilitate agreed outcomes.
Reporting to the CEO, the Director will take responsibility for Community Strengthening; Health and Community Wellbeing; and Family, Youth and Children's Services with a strong focus on implementing Council's social justice agenda. The role also has responsibility for a broad range of children's services, direct delivery of pre-schools, childcare, aged services, maternal and child health as well as providing strong advocacy and leadership for broader community services.
