The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Freight Strategy Advisor to join our Freight Industry Engagement and Strategy team within Transport for NSW. This position will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of the Freight and Ports Plan. The key elements of this diverse role include project management, strategy and policy drafting, and stakeholder engagement within industry.
This position will provide high level strategic freight advice in consultation with the Associate Director Freight Strategy regarding the development and monitoring of the NSW multi-modal freight strategy of TfNSW and the NSW Government.
This unique position is a combination of policy and planning, combining strategy with practical delivery activities, such as consulting with key stakeholders, gathering strategic input, and assisting in the drafting and delivery of the strategy document as it aligns with broader NSW Government priorities.
As the Freight Strategy Advisor you will ideally have project management experience, however no official qualification in this area is required. Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills as well as experience in policy or strategy writing are also considered key areas for success.

Freight, Strategy and Planning division (FSP) is responsible for all strategy, planning, policy and regulation across freight, roads, public transport and all other transport modes. FSP’s remit also includes:
• Develops strategy, policy and planning for freight, public transport, maritime, active transport and roads networks.
• Manages safety and standards for Transport for NSW.
• Consolidates transport data collection, model development, modelling and customer research and surveys for continuous service improvement.
Freight Industry Branch is the expert representative and partner to Transport for NSW and the NSW government, advocating and supporting our stakeholders involved in the freight and port supply chain, along with local government and community sectors.

Salary & Benefits
Transport Service Grade 8 ($112,329 - $125,807) plus superannuation and annual leave loading
