Your new role

The Principal Program Development is a newly created role within our Infrastructure Services Group providing program development leadership within the Transport and Drainage Branch at a senior level. This position will be responsible for leading teams in strategic asset management, transport planning, drainage planning and concept development to formulate deliverable projects and programs for Council’s forward financial planning and 10 Year Capital Works Programs.

This role gives the right person the opportunity to blend their technical experience and customer service skills in a dynamic engineering environment, as well as being able to demonstrate their talent for leading and mentoring a team to perform at a high level to deliver results.

What you’ll need to succeed

We are looking for a person with extensive experience in leading and mentoring teams in an engineering environment to develop long term strategic infrastructure and asset management plans, and concept plans and programs for the renewal, upgrading and growth of Council’s transport and drainage networks. You will be highly skilled in leading and mentoring others to perform at their best to deliver agreed outcomes within a culture of continuous improvement with a passion to grow into a future leadership management role. It is critical that you can demonstrate that you have a high level of customer service skills and that you understand the importance of building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The right person would be an enthusiastic, experienced leader who is tertiary qualified and ideally already a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ). Post graduate qualifications in management would be highly regarded.
