Transport for NSW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander VET Cadet Program 

Do you want to be part of a multi-billion dollar organisation that encompasses five different transport agencies and has a daily impact on the lives of millions of people? 

Transport for NSW is currently accepting applications into the 2018 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Vocational Education and Training (VET) Cadet Program. 

This program is for motivated and engaged people looking to gain paid work whilst undertaking a Certificate IV qualification in Business, Project Management or Information Technology (IT). We are looking for people who have a “can do” attitude and are passionate about learning new skills. 

VET Cadets will be placed within the Transport cluster (including Transport for NSW, Sydney Trains or Roads & Maritime Services) to gain relevant work experience whilst they study.  


What is our VET Cadet Program? 

  • Two year, temporary, entry level development program
  • Full time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week of paid work
  • We provide flexibility whilst completing your studies, by incorporating it as a part of your standard working day
  • A competitive salary of $51,666 per annum plus super

13-17 August 2018* Pre-employment training and assessment program*  -Applicants: Attend all 5 days of pre-employment program*

17 August 2018   Pre-employment checks -  Applicants: Provide requested documents

3 September 2018   Offer of employment – Applicants: Confirm acceptance of employment

8 October 2018   Employment starts -  Applicants: Start full time employment

*The pre-employment program from 13-17 August 2018 is unpaid and a requirement of the recruitment process for the VET Cadet program.
