Regional Roads Victoria (RRV) is a new division of VicRoads headquartered in Ballarat, focusing on the needs of communities throughout regional Victoria now, and into the future. We are working towards a better planned, maintained and integrated road network that aligns with the changing shape of regional Victoria.
RRV will focus both on engaging with regional communities and industries so we can better understand and prioritise their needs, and turning their concerns into actions and delivery of road works. RRV will work with the regional Victorian community and stakeholders every step of the way, to plan, maintain and advocate for the regional road network. RRV will be led by the Chief Regional Roads Officer (CRRO), a key member of the VicRoads Executive Leadership Team and reporting to the Chief Executive of VicRoads.
We are seeking applications for a Director Public Engagement to join the newly formed leadership team reporting to the CRRO.
Working closely with the Chief Regional Roads Officer, the Director Public Engagement will provide strategic advice relating to all aspects of public engagement for the establishment of RRV. This is a critical role connecting the work of the Chief Regional Roads Officer and RRV to the community through engagement that supports the delivery of our program, projects and teams. The role has primary responsibility for driving all Public Engagement strategies for RRV and will bring community and government closer to the work done by VicRoads in regional Victoria, providing visibility to the successes and helping shape a narrative of the role RRV can play in the community to improve the lives of regional Victorians
The role is also responsible for ensuring that RRV is effectively positioned for successful communication and engagement with critical external stakeholders., This position will influence RRV Regional Director’s, senior leaders and other key internal representatives to advocate for the needs of the regional community in relation to an improved regional road network.
