IBAC is Victoria's anti-corruption agency responsible for preventing and exposing public sector corruption and police misconduct. We do this by:
x investigating corruption and police misconduct
x informing the public sector, police and the community about the risks and impacts of corruption and police misconduct, and ways in which it can be prevented.
The High Tech Crime Specialist reports to the Team Leader and supports investigations into corrupt conduct allegations by examining the technological elements of criminal activity.
The role is responsible for analysing and reconstructing digital evidence using qualitative analytical techniques in accordance with forensically sound procedures. The successful applicant will also conduct research of emerging technology, including computer and network vulnerabilities, data hiding and encryption.
To be successful in this role you will have qualifications and/or industry certifications in computer forensic analysis, computer science, software development, electrical engineering or a related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, data analytical skills, knowledge of information management principles and a keen interest to keep abreast with technological trends is essential.
