About the Role

With an emphasis on excelling in stakeholder engagement you will be accountable for the development, planning, administration, implementation, monitoring and review of community road safety campaigns, programs, investigations and activities. You will develop partnerships and work in collaboration with other Council sections, the community, peak road safety bodies, education establishments and the Roads & Maritime Service.

Your programs and activities will deliver demonstrable and sustainable road safety outcomes for the Inner West addressing the social, environmental, economic and governance objectives of Council’s Community Strategic Plan. You will manage your program and activities to ensure project delivery within planned timelines.

You will ensure your work and activities consistently meet the targets and commitments of your individual or team performance plans, the needs of the Group and Council’s Operational and Strategic Plans. You will facilitate and participate in collaboration across the Group and Council in solving problems and developing solutions.

Salary

$80,192 - $91,676 p.a. + super based on 35 hours per week.

$32,076 - $36,670 p.a. + super based on 14 hours per week.

Key Duties
  • You will be accountable for the development, planning, administration, implementation, monitoring and review of community road safety campaigns, programs, investigations and activities.
  • You will develop partnerships and work in collaboration with other Council sections, the community, peak road safety bodies, education establishments and the Roads & Maritime Service.
  • You will ensure your work and activities consistently meet the targets and commitments of your individual or team performance plans, the needs of the Group and Council’s Operational and Strategic Plans.
Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications
  1. Tertiary qualifications in road safety, marketing, education, social sciences or related field or equivalent extensive experience in road safety and/or community development.
  2. Proven ability to design, promote, implement and monitor community programs and behavioural change projects with the capacity for innovative thinking
  3. Knowledge, ability and experience in strategic planning processes; marketing, publicity & promotions; media & communications; public relations.
  4. Flexible and co-operative approach to responsibilities and work times.
  5. Experience in investigating and developing traffic engineering solutions to address road safety issues.
  6. Understanding of or experience with the Australian Business Excellence framework or experience in development and execution of improvement initiatives or continuous improvement.
