As an independent and family-owned business with more than 140 years of experience in shipbuilding, Lürssen is relied upon to build, deliver and maintain naval vessels. Lürssen’s only obligations are to their customers and to the top performance of their products. Lürssen build every type of high-quality surface naval vessels for the German Navy and now for the Australian Navy with the construction of the Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs).

We are working in conjunction with Lürssen for the recruitment of personnel for the OPV project that is currently underway. As a result, we currently have a position available for a Planning Manager working on Defence contracts which will be based in Henderson (Western Australia).

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Manage Project and Production Planning Scheduling and communicate strategy to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • All activities and appointments must be challenged and created consistent with the other (sub)-project plans which leads into regular status reports on overall project plan over the entire project period
  • Leading team members (CMS / OPP Planner, Support, Engineering Planning and Production Planer) and close interaction with other planning functions (e.g., ILS, Validation & Verification, EVM, Sub-contract Delivery Manager…)
  • Work closely with the management team
  • Monitor production and report any potential delays
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with the specification
  • Communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with all other departments

 Profile:

  • Experience working within the shipbuilding industry or similar
  • Proven experience in Project and Production Planning/Scheduling
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English and German
  • Must be able to work proactively and collaboratively in a dynamic and constantly evolving business
  • Advanced experience with Open Plan Professional
  • Proficient Microsoft Office products to include advance Excel and Projects skills
  • EVM Knowledge and experience with COBRA
  • Proven experience working within a team environment
  • Ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams to deliver desired outcomes
  • Project Management skills desired
