Lürssen’s only obligations are to their customers and to the top performance of their products. Lürssen build every type of high-quality surface naval vessels for the German Navy and now for the Australian Navy with the construction of the Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs).

We are working in conjunction with Lürssen for the recruitment of personnel for the OPV project that is currently underway. As a result, we currently have a position available for a Contracts Manager working on Defence contracts which will be based in Henderson (Western Australia).

Our client is a prime contractor for a significant ship building programme for the Australian Department of Defence.

Located in Henderson, the Contract Manager will ensure all contracts, including contract change proposals are managed appropriately.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for contracts management, including configuration of contracts and contract change proposals, vis-à-vis the customer and major subcontractors   
  • Point-of-Contact within the project organisation for legal and commercial contractual matters
  • Setting up of and continuous monitoring and improvement of legal best practices within the organisation 
  • Drafting of and negotiation support for contracts and purchase orders with subcontractors and suppliers  
  • Reports directly to the Project Manager

Profile: 

  • Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Law
  • Detailed understanding of Australian business law 
  • Proven management of large and complex Defence contracts with government authorities and large subcontractors 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Defence industry in a commercial role 

Security Clearance: Secret clearance required or must be able to obtain.
