Local Government organisation in the South Western Suburbs seek highly experienced Strategic Planner to join their Strategic Planning team. You will be working as part of a team together in the delivery of agreed planning outcomes as identified in Councils Strategic Planning Branch and work program.
Working Monday to Friday - 35 hours a week with a view to permanent for the right applicant this is a secure, career progressing opportunity not to be missed!
You will be responsible for;
- Identifying and informing Council of emerging issues and trends and recommend appropriate response
- Represent Council in negotiations with stakeholders
- Provide technical assistance and advice on strategic planning matters to Council staff, senior management, developers and the community
and plenty more!
Essential criteria;
- Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or related discipline and or extensive on the job experience
- Ability to manage complex projects
- Ability to achieve goals and meed deadlines
- Sound working knowledge and experience in the implementation of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and 1979, the Environmental Planning and Regulations Act 2000 and the NSW Local Government Act 1993
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically holistically and creatively
