About the branch

At Parks Victoria, the Business & Infrastructure Services (BIS) division contains Fire & Emergency, People & Culture, Health Safety & Environment, Statewide & Infrastructure, and Information Technology services.  The division provides the strategies, business processes and systems to efficiently and effectively deliver these core support services to Parks Victoria and the community. With a customer centric services culture, the Information & Technology (IT) branch provides expert IT advisory, solution and support services in accordance with the strategic technology vision for Parks Victoria: "Analogue to digital 2020 - connected, informed, engaged and digitally enabled people, places and services".

About the role

The position plays a critical role in ensuring the requirements for demand, availability and capacity management are delivered in line with management expectations, organisational needs, and Service Level Agreements.  The position does this by responding to technology support calls, resolving incidents, problems, and requests in a timely manner and thus, ensure that Parks Victoria's infrastructure services are fit for purpose, responsive, reliable, and secure.  Additionally, the position actively supports delivery of IT strategies and roadmaps, innovation and improvements. Another aspect of the role is to provide expert advice to contribute to procurements, contract management, and management of commercial arrangements to deliver high value, cost effective, and fit for purpose operational outcomes.

In this role you will be responsible for:

Managing our ICT Demand Availability and Capacity, through creating demand, capacity and availability plans and incorporating requirement services to better meet the needs of the business. You'll be responsible for performance monitoring, investigation and improving our ICT services and regularly assessing the demands of the organization. This role will require you to have great customer service to our branches and stakeholders, and undertake regular administrative functions such as upgrade, patches, refreshes, back-ups and mitigation. You'll also be involved with ensuring our infrastructure is secure and regular audits are carried out. Working knowledge of Vendor Contracts, Managing Service Delivery's and forming strong working relationships with our vendors is also important in this role.  It is crucial for this role to provide a high level of data analysis, and providing advice and recommendations as required.

To be successful for this role you will need:

• Proven experience in a similar position, managing Infrastructure environments
• Technical qualifications in Microsoft Operating Systems such as MCSE or MCSA, a Tertiary qualification in an IT field, other relevant industry qualifications
• Excellent communication skills, customer focus, and IT&C as a service attitude
• Proven ability to analyse highly complex issues and the possession of conceptual and problem solving skills
