Your new company
This well-established government regulatory leader in the finance industry is seeking an experienced and Strategic Senior Policy Manager, to join and lead a high performing Policy team within the Policy, Research and Statistics Division. A fantastic leadership opportunity in a professional environment based in Sydney CBD.
Your new role
In your new role as Senior Policy Manager, you will report directly to the General Manager and be a key part of the senior leadership team. You will lead a team of 6 direct reports. You will be responsible for providing accurate and timely advice with regard to policy, planning and strategy. The position will make recommendations supported by logical, well-researched and balanced arguments. You will advise on the implications of policy and planning decisions, taking into consideration sector interests, other factors and practical considerations. You will develop advice within legislative frameworks and stakeholder requirements. The position is also able to make recommendations to commit the organisation to major policy changes, on recommendation to the Executive Team.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be a thought leader and have a strong background in the financial services industry, a subject matter expert in superannuation will be highly regarded. Your high level understanding of the political landscape is critical to this role.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation - Superannuation OR Banking/Financial Services related
- Substantial skills and proven capacity to manage the development and implementation of policies at a senior level.
- Strong skills and experience in policy development.
- Excellent organisational and management skills.
- Highly developed communication and consultation skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Extensive experience in a finance regulated Industry Association OR Minister’s Office OR Super Fund in a policy development role.
What you'll get in return
In this leadership role you will be the trusted advisor for the Superannuation Portfolio. The role will offer a salary package of $200-250k per annum (Inclusive of Super).
