About the Opportunity

Council is looking for an Out of School Hours (OOSH) Centre Director to lead a professional Education and Care team.

The successful applicant will manage and deliver an educational program in a warm and caring environment that enriches and enhances children's lives and compliments their families’ beliefs.

To be considered for this position - you will need:

  • Degree in Education, and/or a Diploma in Children’s Services or Out of School hours (OOSH)
  • First Aid Certificate and Drivers licence
  • Approval as Nominated Supervisor (This is applied for after appointment to the position)
  • Proven skills and experience in the following areas: Child care and education, staff management and customer service, strong communication skills, Budget management
  • A solid understanding of relevant legislation including: Child Protection Legislation, Work, Health and Safety Legislation (WH&S), Equal Employment Opportunities (EEO) and the National Quality Framework (NQF)


Council is a Child safe, Child friendly organisation. Council fully supports the aims and objectives of NSW Child Protection Legislation, and associated provisions, and will implement all necessary measures to ensure a safe and supporting Council environment, which endeavors to promote child safe friendly practices. It is essential for applicants to submit your Working With Children Check number with your application. It is an offence under NSW legislation for barred workers to apply for or otherwise attempt to obtain, undertake or remain in child-related employment.

Salary: Employment is under the Local Government (State) Award. This position is placed at Grade 14 of the Cumberland/Holroyd salary structure with a salary range of $1,421.22 to $1,634.37 per week, plus Superannuation. Commencement salary will depend on qualifications, experience and competencies.

The positions hours are split shift and would be rostered between 6.00am and 6.00pm.

Conditions of Employment: This is a permanent full time split shift position offering an RDO each fortnight. This position could be located at any of the 17 Children's Centres in the Cumberland Council Local Government Area.
