Our Works and Services directorate are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join their Technical Services team. You will either be a qualified Engineer with experience in the traffic and transport industry or an Engineering Technical Officer with extensive experience in civil design and traffic and an appetite to learn.

This position is responsible for overseeing the city’s strategic direction for all traffic and transport, managing solutions to a large number of varying traffic management queries throughout Mandurah and provides in house technical advice and support.

You will be responsible for:

• Preparation of detailed traffic management solutions to ensure traffic and pedestrian safety and amenity is maintained.
• Preparation and analysis of traffic modelling for the future needs of the community for the support of appropriate development within the City.
• Recommendation of hierarchical changes to traffic patterns and infrastructure based on future traffic modelling.
• Preparation of detailed integrated transport plans and solutions to provide the community with appropriate integrated transport.
• Planning for future development and providing solutions for integrated transport to support development within the City.
• The provision of Design and Drafting Services to fulfil Council’s operational requirements within agreed standards, timeframes and budget.
• Providing sound engineering advice and support to Council and the Works and Services Directorate.

To be successful you will have:

• Degree level qualifications in Civil Engineering/Transport Planning or equivalent (or willing to undertake further study).
• Current unrestricted ‘C’ class driver’s license
• Previous local government experience in a related field (Desirable)
• Experienced and Accredited Road Safety Auditor (Desirable)

This permanent full-time level 7 position attracts a salary range of $87,651 to $93,194 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.
