We are passionate about providing green assets across Brisbane's parks, bush reserves and roads so our residents are able to enjoy a vibrant and environmentally sustainable city. Our field based arborist teams support this by delivering specialist arboriculture services to maintain and complete rehabilitation programs of our tree assets. This position supports those field workers by:
- inspecting trees and providing arboriculture reports and estimates for work
- conducting tree risk assessments and advising on tree maintenance and removal
- follow up and manage complex requests from the public and other parts of council relating to trees
- organise and manage subcontractors doing tree work
- assist in disaster/storm events with tree risk assessments to assist maintenance crews with prioritising work
This role is both interesting and varied and to be considered, you will need to have the following:
- the ability to conduct tree condition and risk assessment inspections
- report on your findings and develop recommendations and work plans
- the ability to develop a range of options that take into consideration external environmental factors and Australian standards
- well developed organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands and work under pressure
- good interpersonal and written communication skills, particularly within a customer focussed environment
- computer skills including entering information on a keyboard.
