We are currently seeking an experienced Project Officer to work for our state government client based in Newcastle NSW.

The project officer is responsible for assisting the Manager Engineering and Asset Services team to implement contemporary practices within the trades and maintenance areas.

This includes ensuring that high risk activities, including work performed by ADHC trades staff and contractors are controlled by ensuring that LRCSSL - SS Work Health and Safety procedures and industry Codes of Practice relevant to trades and maintenance activities are implemented.

Key accountabilities;

  • Provide project and operational support, including monitoring and reporting on project plans
  • Update and collate documentation and records regarding relevant issues, policies and practices to ensure the delivery of projects complies with agreed project management methodology
  • Undertake basic research and analysis in assigned project areas and contribute to the preparation of project briefs to support informed decision making and planning
  • Assist the project team to complete tasks and implement project plans to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders to provide updates regarding project status and implementation issues
  • Provide a range of secretariat and administrative services, including coordinating committee meetings and preparing papers, to support project management delivery

Ideal Candidate attributes;

  • 2 years + experience in Facilities Management and with well rounded admin experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint
  • Good organisational skills with ability to prioritise tasks and work towards deadlines
  • Have excellent verbal communication skills
  • Be proactive and be able to demonstrate high attention to detail
  • Be able to work alongside and support the wider team, as well as being able to work autonomously

Pay rate $55p/h dependent on experience.

The role offers a 38 hr week, Monday to Friday.
