Detail information about job Director - Client Outcomes (Public Transport Sector). Terms and conditions vacancy

Overview

This is an exciting and genuinely unique opportunity for a Senior Executive in the New South Wales public transport industry, to take on a newly created position with a privately owned bus operator that has retained its original family culture and focus on operational excellence.

Our client has a long history delivering complex bus contracts for the state government and has always prided itself on the quality of service it provides the state’s public transport users. The organisation has always focused on enabling their employees to develop and seeks to promote from within. This in turn has built a close knit, highly effective and accountable business culture, and one that has made a significant positive contribution to their success.

The Opportunity

In the next three years there is expected to be a significant pipeline of procurement opportunities for operators in the NSW bus industry. This provides the firm with a unique opportunity to expand their current service offering and achieve their goal of delivering operational excellence across the NSW bus network. To achieve this, the executive leadership team have identified a key opportunity to strengthen their team - the role of Director, Client Outcomes.

The Role

This role stands alone as an opportunity for a capable transport executive, who is passionate about the public transport industry and keen to be involved through the entire life-cycle of the critical service it provides the NSW residents and the economy as a whole. There are three objectives linked to this position;

  • Key Client engagement - The role will focus on further expanding and strengthening the existing relationships that relate to the firm's current and future operations. The firm’s executives believe that the firm must continue to deliver a high value service to address the needs of its client, TfNSW, and their end client, the public transport users in NSW. The Director, Client Outcomes will be responsible for identifying and engaging with these stakeholders to better understand how the organisation can deliver the best outcomes to all involved.
  • Contract/Relationship Management – our is proud of the track record they have in delivering operational excellence throughout their long history in the industry and this is thanks to the exceptional people they employ - from those who drive the buses, those who manage the fleet and depot’s, up to the senior leadership team. The Director, Client Outcomes will further strengthen this by being able to engage with key stakeholders in relation to existing operations and proactively address any issues that arise in delivering what is a highly complex operation.
  • Lead the firm’s procurement/tendering strategy – With a healthy pipeline of opportunities, one of the key objectives for this role is to help ensure positive outcomes from the procurement opportunities the firm pursues. The successful candidate will be the architect of the procurement strategy - identifying prospects, evaluating potential and then leading the tendering process through to successful completion. Whilst past experience or a sound understanding of the bus/public transit contract operations would be beneficial, it is not essential. Applicants will, however, be expected to demonstrate their capability in in securing complex projects via a competitive tender process.

A great role if you are....

  1. an experienced professional with a sound understanding of the transport industry in NSW
  2. passionate and believe in the importance of public transport
  3. have a high self-efficacy in the areas of stakeholder engagement and strategic leadership

The Calibre team are really excited to be working on this opportunity and would lover to speak to anyone who is keen to find out more. Please get in touch on [email protected] and I will be keen to discuss further. Closing date for enquiries Friday, July 20th, 2018.
