Port of Townsville Limited owns and manages the Ports of Townsville and Lucinda in North Queensland which are vital trade gateways for Northern Australia, handling around $10 billion worth of cargo each year. The Port of Townsville is the country’s largest sugar, molasses, zinc, lead, copper and fertiliser port, and the largest container, general cargo and automotive port in Northern Australia. The Port is currently completing a significant program of capital investments to increase capacity and efficiency, with plans for further major expansions to cater for the next 30 years of trade growth in the region.
POTL is seeking applications for a highly motivated, experienced and dynamic professional to join our skilled team for a fixed term of 3 years as:
Project Engineer
Salary from $124,250.81 p.a. plus super neg.
Reporting to the Manager Engineering, the primary role of Project Engineer is to provide assistance with civil and structural engineering and other projects from design through to completion.
This position will have a role to play in the following areas:
- Develop project proposals, budgeting and design of both capital and maintenance works;
- Undertake capital projects;
- Assist in the maintenance of the Corporation’s existing infrastructure, plant and equipment; and
- Take a senior role in the Corporation’s emergency response team.
Applicants are required to possess tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering and possess demonstrated experience in contract and project management, as well as preparation of tenders, reports and business documentation.
