Monday - Thursday (30 hours per week)
Directorate Overview
The Governance Unit establishes effective and efficient systems and processes to ensure compliance, accountability, fairness, and transparency to all of its stakeholders.
Primarily an internal unit service provider, Governance provides an advisory service to the organisation in the fields of Risk Management, Business Continuity, Statutory/Legal Processes, Commissioner Support and Corporate Governance that enable & support the wider organisation in performing their roles to deliver outcomes to the Community.
Position Objectives
The Governance Officer primary role is to provide;
- Effective Governance support for the Council decision making process, assisting to ensure that processes comply with statutory provisions, Unit objectives and policies of the Council,
- Effective and accurate advice and implementation of statutory processes as they relate to relevant Legislation, and
- To assist in the provision of electors on the electoral roll, ensuring that all relevant legislative obligations are fulfilled.
