The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Property Acquisitions Manager to be a part of our Property and Acquisitions team within Roads & Maritime Services. This position plays a key role in creating a better transport system, one that is fundamentally designed around the needs and expectations of customers, communities and the economy.

Reporting to the Property and Acquisition Manager, the primary purpose of Property Acquisitions Manager will be to manage a team responsible for undertaking valuations and negotiations for the acquisition of property in line with the identified business needs and requirements of RMS projects and programs.

We are looking for a proactive and hard-working individual who has the capability to act as a source of expert to provide advice to management and staff on land acquisition policies, procedures and legislative requirements and has experience in maintaining a high level of knowledge across property management.

Essential requirements


  • Tertiary academic qualifications as a real estate valuer, which are recognised by the Australian Property Institute.
  • Current practicing membership of any of the following professional bodies: the Australian Valuers Institute (other than associate or student membership), the Australian Property Institute (other than student or provisional membership), acquired in relation to occupation as a valuer, or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors as a chartered valuer.
  • Knowledge and experience in real estate valuation and negotiations for land acquisition.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply statutory requirements, relevant legislation, court precedents and an understanding of property law as it relates to Roads and Maritime Services? dealings in land.
