Job Title:  Senior Finance and Business Services Officer

Agency overview
The Department of Planning & Environment is the lead NSW Government agency in planning for a growing NSW. The Department is going through an exciting period of organisational and operational change.

The Office of Local Government is focussed on strengthening the local government sector across NSW. The Office works collaboratively with the local government sector and other stakeholders to implement solutions that will support councils to deliver the services and infrastructure that their communities need, both now and into the future.

The Office is part of the Planning and Environment Cluster and located on the beautiful South Coast of NSW.

About the Role:
Coordinate finance and business services activities of OLG including the development of business and reporting systems and procedures relating to finance, projects and administrative services and provide technical advice for the creation and implementation of efficient and effective operational guidelines and processes to achieve government and OLG priorities.
 
• Collate and prepare relevant financial reports, budgets and documents
• Work on several financial issues concurrently, in a high-volume work environment
• Provide accurate and compliant financial advice to key stakeholders
 
Essential requirements:
• Sound understanding of public sector accounting policies, systems, procedures, relevant legislation, standards and Treasury requirements.
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent, relevant professional experience and training.
 
To be successful in the role, ideally you will have:
• Demonstrated experience working with public sector accounting policy and practice
