An immediate and rare opportunity to join a highly regarded Defence specialist engineering team.
Are you an experienced and creative engineer who wants to work within a diverse, fast-paced engineering team providing solutions and system integration to our customers.
The successful candidate will lead development and manage projects while providing support to senior management. There will be some business development and customer liaison activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and analysing finite element models utilising Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
- Delivering innovative solutions to customer technical and specification requirements.
- Establishing and maintaining long-term constructive relationships with internal & external customers.
- Leading reliability analysis, DFMA’s, including FMEAs and Root Cause Analysis.
- Reviewing and utilising customer-specified Standards to prepare system requirements.
- Preparing test and evaluation programs including coordinating FRACAS and preparing / approving test reports.
- Evaluating bids / technical proposals for engineering integrity.
- Mentoring and supervising junior staff.
To be successful in this position you must:
- Be an Australian Citizen.
- Be able to hold a Defence Security Clearance.
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Success in professional engineering & project management with preference being Automotive or Defence fields.
- Experience using high-end CAE/Finite Element Analysis (FEA) system, Developing, and analysing finite element models in the areas of structural, thermal vibration and durability.(Mandatory).
- Experience using MS Office Suite and MRP Systems. (eg SAP, Pronto or Epicor).
- Effective team leadership, consultation and communication skills.
- Track record of successful communications via written and spoken (technical and general) with a range of stakeholders.
- Comfortable with and competence in preparing and delivering presentations.
