Unit Maintenance Test Pilot
Multi Role Helicopter (MRH90 Taipan) Special Forces
A newly created position is required to act as a Unit Maintenance Test Pilots (UMTP) at the Airbus Sydney site.
Commencing as soon as possible, the UMTP is to provide assistance to maximise available aircraft through close liaison with Director Test Pilots, AMO staff in Sydney, and the Directors of associated programs. Secondary duties (commensurate with qualifications, professional suitability criteria and when capacity permits) may include other pilot duties such as ferrying and delivery of aircraft as well as other operational support tasks.
The successful applicant is to be part of a highly qualified, agile team that is able to support Airbus Australia Pacific flight operations locally and in the Region as tasks require.
Duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Unit Maintenance Test Pilot (UMTP) duties on the MRH90 in Sydney
- Flight Operational Support activities on and in support of the MRH90 aircraft in Sydney
In addition to the essential responsibilities as a UMTP in Sydney, you may be required to support a variety of other flight operations in the Region. These may include:
- Unit Maintenance Test Pilot (UMTP) duties on the MRH90 in Brisbane and Oakey
- Flight Support activities such as ferry flights and aircraft delivery flights
- Other tasks and duties within the bounds of experience, skills and trade or professional certifications, as directed by management.
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you secure and maintain all licenses and accreditation required to operate on the MRH90 helicopter as a Unit Maintenance Test Pilot.
You are expected to support your peers and supervisors through your personal attributes including communication skills, enthusiasm, professional acumen, integrity and work ethics.
This position is required to conduct flying operations IAW the Defence and AAP orders, instructions and procedures as well as those of the National Airworthiness Authorities as appropriate to the role.

Applicants must have the capacity to attain and maintain a CASA Class 1 Medical suitable for single pilot operations.
