About the role

MercyCare is seeking a Senior Support Worker to join our Community and Home Support Team on a permanent part time basis, 40 hours per fortnight. The role will cover the South East region of Perth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing mentoring, support and coaching to Support Workers within the Community and Home Support service unit. The postholder will also provide support to our service users, supporting independence, facilitating connection with others and working in partnership with them to ensure their involvement in all choices and decisions in relation to the support they receive.

Minimum requirements

  • Certificate III (3) Aged Care and Community Work and working towards or completion Certificate IV (4)
  • Experience in working in aged care and/or disability sector
  • Demonstrated understanding of Consumer Directed Care
  • Demonstrated understanding of wellness/reablement approaches
  • Experience in supporting clients with complex needs
  • Ability to work with the community care team contributing to client management and supporting staff
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence
  • National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 6 months)
