Position Hours: Full-Time - 37.5hrs per week, with a 9 day fortnight

The Candidate:  The Transport Engineer is expected to develop and oversee the implementation of Council’s Transport Strategy, which supports the growth and economy of Glenorchy assisting our people to lead healthy and active lifestyles. The role is also responsible for monitoring the transport network and providing technical advice in respect to projects, planning, and issues raised by the community.

The Responsibility stated in the Key Duties below defines the role of the position. However, the level of responsibility for the person appointed to the job may vary depending on the skills, experience and qualification of the person, by agreement with Manager Infrastructure, Engineering & Design.

The person, who is appointed to this position but yet to be capable of undertaking all the Responsibility, is expected to start with a lower Classification, and progress towards the full responsibility and a higher Classification, with training and support provided by Council.

Qualifications: Degree qualification in Engineering from a recognised Tertiary Institution and demonstrated knowledge and skills in transport engineering.

Salary: To be negotiated with the successful candidate - Schedule A, Salary up to $111,355.53 pa

Probation Period: 12 weeks
