Woollahra Libraries has a variety of permanent part time Library Assistant roles available.

The permanent part-time Library Assistant roles include:

  • Library Assistants for every Saturday 10:00am to 4:30pm or 9:30 to 4:00pm.

and / or

  • Library Assistants  for every Sunday from  9:00am to 4:30pm or 10:00am to 4:30pm.

We are a state of the art Library, seeking enthusiastic, tech savvy and experienced Library Assistants with excellent customer service skills, a can-do attitude and a systematic approach to the completion of tasks.

You will work effectively as a team member, with or without close supervision, and enjoy a challenging role.  

These opportunities may allow you to work at all Woollahra Libraries service points

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in a public library or similar.
  • An enthusiastic and engaging approach to providing excellent customer service.
  • Well developed oral and written communication skills including social media.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide accurate work and to manage competing priorities.
  • Well-developed knowledge and skills in Library technology with the ability to assist customers in the use of such technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as both a team member and independently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning and continuous self-improvement as well as a positive approach to change, flexibility and adaptability in the work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake the physical requirements of the position as outlined in Section D of the position.
  • Demonstrated understanding of EEO and WHS principles.
  • Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check

 Desirable Criteria:

  • Working knowledge of Libero Library Management System.
  • Current C Drivers Licence.
  • Willingness to obtain a First Aid Certificate
  • Willingness to participate in the delivery of Library events and programs.
