The Role
As a Range Operator you will be required to provide maintenance to the Defence Training Areas in Bindoon, which sits within Estate Maintenance and Operation Services (EMOS) Contract.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
• Provide technical advice to Broadspectrum services management and customers as required
• Ensure Red Flags / Red Lights are positioned in accordance with Range Standing Orders
• Ensure contractor Blue Flags are positioned in accordance with Broadspectrum Site Induction requirements for visitors and contractors
• Assist the Range Supervisor with HSE Site Inspections, Job Analysis and Safety Observations
• Ensure all customer complaints are addressed and feedback is provided to the customer
• Prepare Ranges to suit customer needs
• Maintain and Operate that Range Live Fire Target Equipment applicable to the TAR
• Provide assistance to range users and other customers as required
• Ensure adherence to Range Standing Orders and report any identified breaches immediately to Range Control
• Prepare, deliver and recover portable toilet appliances from the TAR
• Undertake cleaning and housekeeping activities within the TAR environment including but not limited to ablutions, camp accommodation and administrative facilities at the required frequencies
• Undertake Land Management activities within the TAR environment including but not limited to grass cutting, tree removal, weed spraying and GIS mapping
• Undertake first response bush firefighting activities within the limitations of qualifications, available equipment, safety and crew size.
• Undertake basic Estate Upkeep functions such as fence and gate repairs and other tasks
• Manufacture and repair targets as required.
The Candidate:
Along with strong communication and commitment to your role, candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
• Be an Australian citizen eligible & for a defence clearance (mandatory)
• Valid Australian drivers licence (MR or above desirable)
• Hold current Operational licences and equipment tickets
• Experience with the use relevant tools including power tools, chain saws etc
• Working knowledge with inventory control, stock management and storage maintenance
• High level of navigational/orientation skills
• Experience in Range and/or Defence Land Management (highly desirable)
• Current certificate in Senior First Aid
• Bush firefighting qualifications
You must be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Department of Defence Security Clearance to Apply.
